About Claudius du Plooy

Originally from South Africa, Claudius knows first hand what it’s like to cross borders and live through unpredictable times. He practiced corporate law specializing in mergers and acquisitions in Johannesburg. During this time he acted for a wide range of clients, including a number of multinational corporations and regulatory bodies. He also focused on serving corporate clients entering the South African market after international sanctions were lifted.

Claudius came to Canada in 2001. Today he has an active practice in commercial property development, business law, some entertainment law and wills and estate law.

Claudius is passionate about working with small to mid size businesses. He enjoys their entrepreneurial nature and the variety of projects.  He finds these companies are quicker to adjust to the current climate and plot a new course.

When he’s not doing business law, you can find him playing the double bass and doing abstract painting.
